Withdraw the Finance Bill 2023- Miguna’s unsolicited advice to President Ruto.
Taking it to his verified twitter account, Lawyer Miguna Miguna told President Ruto to listen to Kenyans and address their issues immediately.
He advised that the president does not need to implement things that will make Kenyans live uncomfortably, than they already are.
He stated,”Pull back. Listen to Kenyans. Withdraw the Finance Bill 2023. Postpone the implementation of the Housing Levy. Return to the Drawing Board.”
The vocal lawyer went ahead to advice president Ruto, to consider hiring new personnel who will guide him to the correct path.
He added that the president should keenly observe the interests of Kenyans regardless of their gender, citing the undetectable economic trends.
Notably, Miguna highlighted that the president Needs to do right now is listen to his people rather than arguing on why they need the finance bill or housing levy.
He stated,”Hire new, independent and TRUTHFUL ADVISORS. Reshuffle your communications team and hire two or three FRESH FACES.Don’t rely on YES MEN and YES WOMEN. Don’t be defensive. Don’t argue with the PEOPLE.”
Additionally, Miguna Miguna warned president Ruto on the risk of hiring civil servants along tribal lines. He outlined that it does not portray a good image on the political image of Kenya.
He stated,” Stop entrenching the perception that you are only hiring exclusively from TWO ETHNIC GROUPS. Stop hiring and recycling incompetent failures and graft riddled conmen. The reckless talk about TWO SHARE HOLDERS in a country of 50 million people is political suicide.”
