President william Ruto to appoint six judges today.
During his speech as the new president of Kenya, president William Ruto to appoint six judges today was among his intiatives.
Ruto stated,”To further demonstrate my commitment to the independence of the judiciary, this afternoon, I will appoint the six judges already nominated for appointment to the court of appeal which was done three years ago.”
President Ruto further stated that he will personally president over their swearing in as they embark on serving the people of Kenya.
He said,”Tomorrow. I shall preside over their swearing-in so that they can get on with the business of serving the people of Kenya.”
President William continued by stating that his government will respect the rule of law as stipulated in the constitution of Kenya.
He said,”To consolidate the place of the Judiciary in our constitutional and democratic dispensation, my administration will respect judicial decisions while we cement the place of Kenya as a country anchored on democracy the rule of law.”
President Ruto further promised that he will scale up the finance in judiciary to support the small court claims.
He said,”My administration which scale up the budgetary allocation to the judiciary by an additional Ksh3 billion annually for the next five years. These resources will support the bottom-up scaling of justice by increasing the small claims court.”
He added,”These interventions will empower the judiciary to adjudicate and expeditiously conclude corruption cases, commercial disputes and all other matters thereby enhancing access to Justice.”
