Protest have been witnessed outside parliament, in support of Cherera, Masit, Wandera and Nyang’aya.
The demonstrators camped outside County Hall where National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee was meeting to receive petition from IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera
Led by the President of Bunge la Mwananchi, Calvin Okoth Otieno, they have vowed to appear daily until justice is served in favour of the four.
Otieno stated,”Kenyans are with Cherera and the three others. Even if they throw tear gas or fire live bullets at us, we will not stop.”
Calvin also urged Nairobi residents, to attend in Masses at the Raila Led meeting in Kamukunji on Wednesday.
Otieno further expressed grievances ever since, Kenya kwanza took over.
He stated,”Unga is still up, fuel is unaffordable and we are living in constant fear of being attacked by criminals.”
Cherera who was represented by her lawyer, pleaded that the JLAC gives her 10 days to respond to petitioners.
Irene Masit will appear before the committee in the afternoon while Wanderi and Nyang’aya will present themselves on Tuesday.
