If they are not ready we will explore other options- Raila issues an ultimatum again.
Speaking today, the opposition leader, Raila revealed that after taking the high road and calling off the demonstrations, president William Ruto is turning on them, yet again.
Raila explained that they thought Kenya kwanza was genuinely interested in the talks, but they tricked them into calling off the protests, because international guests were coming into the country.
Raila stated,”We acted in good faith to call off the demonstrations because Kenya Kwanza had approached us and said they were ready for talks and that they would remove Adan Keynan who they had put as one of their delegates.”
“We knew that the real reason they were doing it was because they were expecting visitors who were coming into town and they did not want demonstrations at the time,” he added.
He issued an ultimatum saying that the talks must be done on wednesday or they explore other areas.
He stated,”They are saying that members are not available and they don’t have a quorum to begin discussions. We have given them Monday and Tuesday. The talks must start on Wednesday. If they are not ready we will treat that agreement as cancelled and explore other options available to us.”
This comes after Kenya kwanza dropped Keynan and highlighted that they will meet with Azimio la umoja to discuss whether the talks will be held parliament or not.
