Gachagua Cancel Two Events Amid Anticipated Public Appearance After Limuru Chaos
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reportedly canceled his planned visit to a funeral in Molo and a church event in Pipeline, Nakuru.
According to Former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the ddecision was necessary due to heightened security concerns.
Speaking on the chaos was Wiper partly leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who condemned the event as state-sponsored.
The said incident happened on Thursday, when the former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi was addressing mourners at Bibirioni Boys High School, Limuru.
Unknown individuals appeared and started hurling objects and chairs, forcing mourners to scamper for safety.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was present at the funeral, and his cars were damaged.
Mwathi’s wife, Dr Anne Mungai, had earlier claimed that her husband’s vehicle was sandwiched by two Subaru vehicles, leading to him being taken away, as she pleaded for his release.
According to Police Spokesperson Resila Onyango, Mwathi is not a person of interest in the case.
