President Museveni invites Ruto to grace their independence day, that will be held on october 9th 2022.
According to analysts, the move will help quell the tension caused on monday, by Museveni’s son Muhoozi.
Reports indicated that The president of Kenya, William Ruto is among the dignitaries invited by Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni as the country marks 60 years since it gained independence.
President Museveni has been the longest serving president of Uganda, he has been on the seat since January 29, 1986.
Yesterday, the Ugandan president released an apology statement to Kenya after chaos was witnessed between Nairobi and Kampala.
Museveni apologised on behalf of Muhoozi who acted negatively as a public officer.
Museveni said,”Dear Ugandans, the brotherly people of Kenya, and all East Africans. I greet all of you. I ask our Kenyan brothers and sisters to forgive us for the tweets sent by General Muhoozi. It is not correct for Public officers, be they civilian or military, to comment or interfere in any way, in the internal affairs of brother countries.”
The Ugandan president highlighted that, the only available legitimate forum where issues could be raised is the Peer Review Mechanism of the African Union or confidential interactions among Presidents or the East African Community and the African Union.

However, the president went ahead to promote his son Muhoozi, from a commander to a full general.
He explained that regardless of his negative statements, the son has made a positive impact in Ugandan military.
Museveni explained,”promoted him because this mistake is one aspect where he has acted negatively as a Public officer. There are, however, many other positive contributions the General has made and can still make. This is a time-tested formula –discourage the negative and encourage the positive.”
